OrgAn: Organizational Anonymity with Low Latency

چکیده
There is a growing demand for network-level anonymity delegates at global organizations such as the UN and Red Cross. Numerous anonymous communication (AC) systems have been proposed over last few decades to provide internet; however, they introduce high latency overhead, weaker guarantees, or are difficult deploy organizational networks. Recently, PriFi system introduced client/relay/server model that suitably utilizes network topology proposes low-latency, strong-anonymity AC protocol. Using an efficient lattice-based (almost) keyhomomorphic pseudorandom function Netwon’s power sums, we present novel protocol OrgAn in this provides strong against adversary controlling majority of network. OrgAn’s cryptographic design allows it overcome several major problems with any realistic instantiation: (a) unlike PriFi, avoids frequent, interactive, slot-agreement among servers; (b) relay has receive frequent from servers, which can not only become bottleneck but also reveal access pattern servers increases chance server collusion/coercion, while absent real-time process. We demonstrate how make public-key solution scale equally well symmetric-cryptographic practical pre-computation storage requirements. Through prototype implementation, show similar throughput end-to-end guarantees still discounting setup challenges PriFi.

Low Latency Anonymity with Mix Rings
We introduce mix rings, a novel peer-to-peer mixnet architecture for anonymity that yields low-latency networking compared to existing mixnet architectures. A mix ring is a cycle of continuous-time mixes that uses carefully coordinated cover traffic and a simple fan-out mechanism to protect the initiator from timing analysis attacks. Key features of the mix ring architecture include decoupling ...
متن کاملAnonymity Trilemma: Strong Anonymity, Low Bandwidth, Low Latency—Choose Two
This work investigates the fundamental constraintsof anonymous communication (AC) protocols. We analyze therelationship between bandwidth overhead, latency overhead, andsender anonymity or recipient anonymity against the globalpassive (network-level) adversary. We confirm the trilemma thatan AC protocol can only achieve two out of the following threeproperties: strong an...
متن کاملChallenges in deploying low-latency anonymity (DRAFT)
There are many unexpected or unexpectedly difficult obstacles to deploying anonymous communications. Drawing on our experiences deploying Tor (the second-generation onion routing network), we describe social challenges and technical issues that must be faced in building, deploying, and sustaining a scalable, distributed, low-latency anonymity network.

This work investigates the fundamental constraints of anonymous communication (AC) protocols. We analyze the relationship between bandwidth overhead, latency overhead, and sender anonymity or recipient anonymity against the global passive (network-level) adversary. We confirm the trilemma that an AC protocol can only achieve two out of the following three properties: strong anonymity (i.e., ano...
